Founders

Hair Cup Finland is an international championship aimed at developing and promoting the art of hairdressing. It is organized as part of the annual beauty exhibition I Love Me.

Every year, in October, Messukeskus, the largest exhibition centre in Northern Europe, hosts the International Open Championship of Hairdressing Art Hair Cup Finland as part of the popular seasonal exhibition I Love Me.

The exhibition takes place in the Finland capital's expo center, and rightfully named as one of the most fashionable events in Scandinavia. For Finnish beauty professionals, I Love Me is the main exhibition event of the year. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate your professionalism and skill at the highest level!

Competitions, contests, championships arranged for professionals are a powerful incentive for professional growth for all those who want to demonstrate their talent and skill!

Masters, juniors (no more than two years of experience) and students can participate in the championship.

Fashion haircut and styling

Commercial haircut and coloring follow the main fashion trends. Work is done on the model. Before starting, the model's hair is moistened and combed back.

Hair Color
Balanced coloring using no more than two colors, and bright colors are prohibited. The use of coloring sprays is prohibited.
Hair length
Before the start of the competition, the length of the hair must be at least 8cm. Prohibited - the use of hair extensions and tresses made from natural hair.
Tools
All cutting and styling tools are allowed.
Preparations
It is allowed to use all styling products for styling and fixing hair.
Clothing
Must meet this category.
Timing
Masters and juniors - 40 min + 3 min.

2.Geometric haircut "Avant-garde" (model or mannequin head)

Haircut Avant-garde is performed by creating geometric sections on the hair along precise lines to make the haircut as sharp as possible.
Angularity, roughness, sharpness of the transition - these is all avant-garde geometric style for any length of hair.
The head should be prepared only with coloring and outlining before work, but no cutting and styling in advance.
Hair length
Hair length before cutting should be at least 10 cm.
Competitors will be required to cut at least 3 cm at a given time.
It is allowed to use tresses and hair extensions in advance.
Hair Color
The creative bright coloring of at least three colors. Sprays are prohibited.
Tools
All cutting and styling tools are allowed.
Preparations
It is allowed to use all styling products for styling and fixing hair.

3.Evening fashion hairstyle "Evening style" (Model)

Participants perform a commercial fashion high evening hairstyle, focused on the latest fashion trends.
The participant performs the competitive work on the model, for juniors it is allowed to perform it on the mannequin-head of the competitive standard (with shoulders).
Before the start of the competition, the hair must be combed back. Hair can be worked on in advance: it can be corrugated, curled with the use of the curling iron, etc.
Hair length
Shoulder length and longer.
Hair color
The model's hair is pre-dyed. One or more colors can be used. The coloring must be balanced and it should follow fashion trends. Coloring sprays are prohibited.
Tools
All tools are allowed (brushes, irons, curling irons, etc.).
Styling
The hair must be arranged, only 25% can be left free.
Preparations
All styling products are allowed.
Allowed
Use of natural tresses, but not more than 1/3 of the head surface. Jewelry or hair ornaments are made from different materials.
Prohibited
Postiche, the use of rollers, frames, and large decorations over 1/3 of the surface of the head.
Clothing
The costume and make-up must match the evening hairstyle.

4.Fashion Waves

The main features of the Hollywood wave include large waves on the hair, the same size of curls, side parting, soft styling lines, and at the same time accuracy in performing hairstyles. Volume is allowed. It is also important for the master to take into account the length of the hair: the shorter the hair, the smaller the curls should be in diameter.

The choice of hair length is free.
Hair Color
The choice of color is within the commercial range.
Tools
All styling tools are allowed.
Preparations
It is allowed to use all preparations for styling and fixing hair.
Prohibited
The use of jewelry, hairpins, and clips after the work is completed.

5.Salon wedding hairstyle Bridal Style

Participants perform a commercial fashionable wedding hairstyle, romantically style (low bun or ponytail) focused on the latest fashion trends.
The participant performs the competitive work on the model, for juniors, it is allowed to perform it on the mannequin-head of the competitive standard (with shoulders).
Before the start of the competition, the hair must be combed back. Hair can be worked on in advance: corrugated, curled with the curling iron, etc.
Hair length
Shoulder-length and longer.
Hair Color
The model's hair is pre-dyed. One or more colors can be used. The coloring must be balanced and not aggressively bright. Various coloring techniques can be used. Coloring sprays are prohibited.

The hair must be arranged, only 25% can be left free.

6.Technical category: Evening hairstyle Elegant Podium ( Artistic ) (Mannequin)

The contestants demonstrate their skill level in the technical category.
Participants perform a technical evening hairstyle in an Artistic style.
The participant performs the competitive work on the mannequin-head of the competitive standard (with shoulders).
Before the start of the competition, the hair must be combed back. The hair can be worked on in advance.
Hair length
Shoulder-length and longer.
Hair Color
The model's hair is pre-dyed. A balanced transition from one tone to another is mandatory (at least two tones of color). Coloring sprays are prohibited.
Tools
All tools are allowed (brushes, irons, curling irons, etc.).
Styling
The hairstyle should not give the impression of loose hair. The hair is completely collected and only 25% can be loose. At the end of the work, there should be no hair pins or clips.
Preparations
All styling products are allowed.
Allowed
Use of natural hair tresses, but no more than 1/3 of the head surface.
The use of jewelry or hair ornaments made of different materials must match the hairstyle and be proportional to it.
Prohibited
Postiche, the use of rollers, frames, and large decorations for more than 1/3 of the surface of the head, the use of any means of support is prohibited.

7.Creative coloring

Creative coloring is the non-standard coloring of part of the hair or the entire head with bright, rich, balanced colors using various techniques or patterns.
Hair length
Hair length can be long or short.
Hair Color
Color gradation of at least three tones. In the final version, the color should be balanced and in line with fashion trends. All colors including neon are allowed. Coloring sprays are prohibited.
Tools
For styling, it is allowed to use any tool.
Preparations
The choice of brand of dye and color is arbitrary.
Styling
80% of the hair should remain straight and fall down.
Prohibited

Ornaments made from hair are prohibited.
Jewelry and frames are prohibited.
Hair extensions are prohibited.

Clothing
The costume, make-up, and accessories must correspond to this nomination and the image as a whole.

1.Men's haircut Salon Look

Commercial men's haircut in a classic style. A haircut for a regular consumer would be relevant to the city look. The model's hair should be moistened and combed back.
Hair Color
Natural color or colored hair. Coloring is done in advance, with natural color harmony. No more than two
tones. The use of color sprays is prohibited.
Hair length
Hair length before the start of the competition is not less than 5 cm, and in other areas not less than 3 cm. Along the marginal line, at least 1 cm.
Tools
All cutting and styling tools allowed.

2. Fashionable haircut with styling “Razor Low Fade” (Model)

Short men's commercial haircut. Creation of the image of a brutal man. Mandatory haircut using the Fade technique. When finished, the hairstyle should have a masculine look. Before starting, the hair is moistened and combed back.
Hair Color
Coloring is done in advance, and balanced coloring in fashion trends is expected. Sprays are prohibited.
Hair length
Before the start of the competition, the length of the hair is free on the top, on the side and behind by at least 2 cm.
A haircut
The haircut is made in Fade techniques. In its finished form, a haircut with the reduction of the marginal hairline starting from 0 mm in the transition, without going beyond the occipital zone. The shave must be completed in full in competition.

All cutting and styling tools allowed.

All preparations for styling and fixation are allowed.

Avant-garde is an unusual, original, and bright trend in fashion; the avant-garde style is based on color and shape.
There are no rules and recommendations for the avant-garde style, while such a hairstyle should express the image of completeness and integrity.
It doesn't matter either the length or the color of the hair. It should be spectacular, innovative, and trendy, with interesting textures.
Avant-garde is the destruction of boundaries, and the creation of unusual images.
These are experimental concepts that are pushing our collective consciousness to new levels of what hair is capable of.
The model enters the catwalk with completely finished work. There is only one participant and the model on the podium. Final refinement is carried out after the command "START".

Jury

The jury of the International Hairdressing Championship Finland is appointed by the Hius- ja Kauneudenhoitajien Maailmanjärjestö Finland Association.
All members of the jury are esteemed professional stylists and also nominees of International championships.
As well as honored artists and internationally recognized masters
During judging, the jury must be able to see the complete hairstyle, general impression of the work, color and cut. The judging is held in an open voting mode.
The final decision of the jury is not subject to appeal.
